GrowEasy Aquaponics All-In-One Starter Kit

The GrowEasy Aquaponics All-In-One Starter Kit makes getting set up with aquaponics easy. Simply connect the kit to your pond, fish tank, or other water body, and get growing.

Aquaponics helps improve the health of both plants and fish. Plants use the fish waste in your pond water as food, while fish benefit from having their pond water filtered through the root systems of the plants.

What’s in the kit?

  • 2 x Grow Bays: Each grow bay has two growing levels that house three growing channels
  • 76 x Grow Cups/Pots
  • Grow Media: Enough grow clay is supplied to fill each cup
  • 19mm Pond Hose
  • Required Fittings

How does the kit work?

The GrowEasy Aquaponics All-In-One Starter Kit connects directly to your pond, tank or other water body and requires a flow rate of approximately 1,500 to 2,000L per hour.

Once you’ve set up your pump, filter, and beds, the water should flow from your pond to the top row of your aquaponics setup. This area will fill with water and overflow via a siphon to the lower grow channels.

Need a filter?

You’ll need a pond filter to transfer the water from your pond/tank to your GrowEasy setup. If you don’t already have a filter, we recommend the Biosteps 10 Pro Kitwhich is suitable for fish ponds up to 10,000L or koi ponds up to 5,000L.

Where should I put my aquaponics kit?

We recommend placing your aquaponics kit as close to your pond as practical in an area where there is adequate sunlight and room for your plants to grow.

What fish should I choose?

If you don’t have an existing collection of fishy friends, we recommend species such as silver perch, freshwater catfish, trout, goldfish and koi. We recommend sourcing your fish from LiveFish Australia if you’re in Australia. Fish should be fed high quality fish food daily (the higher the quality of your fish food, the better the yield you will get from your plants).

What plants can I grow?

You can grow almost any plant you’d like in this system. Some beginner-friendly varieties we recommend are: celery, leafy greens, spring onion, chives, tomatoes, basil, coriander, parsley, oregano and thyme.

What maintenance is required?

Your aquaponics system will require the same maintenance as a regular garden. Plants will need to be cared for and pruned as necessary and will need to be removed/replaced when their growing season has ended. You should also vacuum out or clean your grow channels from time to time.
